Rental Rules
- In Accordance with the local government fire regulations, no more than 200 people may be in the Mary Gay House (House) at any time.
- Note locations of fire extinguishers: in the kitchen and in the table/chair storage room.
- An approved licensed and insured full sevice caterering company is required when serving food or drinks. The caterer must provide proof of license and insurance two months prior to event. Caterer is responsible for set-up, break-down, clean-up and trash removal.
- SMOKING IS NOT PERMITTED IN THE MARY GAY HOUSE. Smoking is permitted only on the brick patio at rear of the house. Renter must provide ashtrays for outdoor use only.
- Decorative LIGHTED CANDLES MAY NOT BE USED WITHOUT GLOBES.
- Arrangements may be made in advance for use of gas logs in the fireplaces located in the Dining Room and in the Parlor. The fireplace in the Simpson Room is decorative only, is not functional, and may not be used.
- Beverage bars may be set up ONLY in the Simpson Room and on the patio.
- No decorations may be hung from the light fixtures.
- Rice, birdseed, confetti, glitter, sparklers, etc. IS PROHIBITED.
- No tape, nails, tacks, screws, staples, floral putty and or other adhesives may be used on the walls, ceilings, moldings, door or window frames or furniture.
- All food must be brought in and taken out through the service entrance. (the kitchen door).
- Dancing is permitted in the Simpson Room only.
- THERE SHALL BE NO AMPLIFIED MUSIC OUTSIDE OF THE HOUSE, with the exception of music during a wedding service. See attached Code for Decatur.
- Furnishings and equipment in the House may only be used in the House and MAY NOT BE MOVED OR REMOVED FROM THE HOUSE. The Dining Room table and the round drum table in the Parlor may be moved, but must be returned to their original locations.
- The House, Patio and the yard must be thoroughly cleaned and all trash, garbage and other debris must be removed from the premises when the premises are vacated. TRASH BAGS ARE NOT PROVIDED. Exterior garbage cans are for LEAGUE USE ONLY and are not available for use by Lessee.
- The House must be left in the condition in which it was rented. ALL TABLES AND CHAIRS MUST BE RETURNED TO THE STORAGE AREA AND PROPERLY STACKED.
- REFRIGERATOR IS FOR FOOD USE ONLY.
- House Manager is not responsible for set-up or break-down.
- All Lessees' personal property should be removed when the premises are vacated unless arrangements have been made in advance.
- Kegs are outdoor use only.
- ALL FUNCTIONS AT THE HOUSE MUST BE OVER AND PREMISES VACATED BY 12:00 MIDNIGHT.
