SOCIAL EVENTS
Rental Period and availability (subject to all rentals):
The rental period is an 8 hour block of time between the hours of 8:00 am-12:00 am.
The rental period includes set-up and breakdown time.
Evening events must end no later than 11:00 pm to allow vendor's adequate time to load out.
A fee of $100.00 per hour or any portion of an hour over the allotted time will be deducted from the refundable deposit. A document will be provided for confirmation of exit time signed by the caterer, vendor or client if needed.
Rental Fees :
Monday through Thursday - $500.00.
Friday - $800.00.
Saturday - $1,250.00
Sunday - $900.00

Additional Fees :
There is a $500.00 refundable deposit due at the time the rental agreement is signed made payable to the Junior League of DeKalb County, Inc.
There will be a charge of $100.00 per hour for additional time added to the contracted event scheduled time period.
All functions must be over and the premises vacated by 12:00 midnight.
Payment Schedule :
Security deposit of $500.00 due at signing of the rental agreement.
Rental fee due one month prior to rental date.
Security - Damage Deposit :
The refundable deposit secures the obligation of the Lessee (renter) to leave the Mary Gay House in a clean and orderly condition. The Jr. League of DeKalb County, Inc. may apply all or any protion of the Security-Damage Deposit to defray any cost or expense incurred in restoring the Mary Gay House to its original condition.
Rental Areas and Capacities :
The Mary Gay House reserves the right to determine which area may be used for food and drink service. Food and beverages must be unloaded and brought in through the kitchen and/or French doors. Food may be set-up in the Simpson Room, Dining Room and the brick patio. Beverage service may be set-up in the Simpson Room and brick patio area only. Beer kegs must be set-up on the brick patio.
The Mary Gay House can accommodate 200 standing guests if the entire facility is used. This includes the Simpson Room, Dining Room, Front Parlor and the Rental Office.
The Simpson Room can accommodate 80 - 100 seated guests at tables for a sit down dinner. The same number of guests can be seated for a sit-down wedding ceremony with a center aisle. The brick patio area can accommodate the same number of guests as the Simpson Room.
Parking :
The Mary Gay House offers free parking on both sides of West Trinity Place and additional parking across the street from the Mary Gay House at St. Thomas More Church. Please observe parking signs posted by the City of Decatur.
The driveway of the Mary Gay House is reserved for Catering vehicles.
Catering :
The Mary Gay House provides a list of "Suggested Caterers". You may select a caterer of your own, but they must be approved and provide a copy of their certificate of liability and local business license 60 days in advance of your rental date.
The Mary Gay House reserves the right to refuse any caterer not listed on the preferred list of caterers. No forms of "take-out" or self-prepared foods are permitted at the Mary Gay House.
It is the responsibility of the client to be sure your caterer understands they are responsible for cleaning the kitchen and serving areas following an event. This includes cleaning sinks, counters, oven refrigerator, nicrowaves, sweeping/mopping floors and removing all trash from the property. If the house is not left in a clean and orderly state, the lessee will be chared additional fees which will be deducted from their deposit.
Music Policy :
No amplification of music is allowed outside of the Mary Gay House with the exception of music during a wedding service. Speakers must be brought inside immediately after ceremony. (See attached Code for Decatur)
Amplified music is allowed in the Simpson Room only.
Acoustic musical instruments are permitted outside.
In all events the noise ordinance is strictly enforced starting at 10:00 pm.

Rental Equipment :
Arrangements must be made in advance with the Mary Gay House Rental Agent for delivery and pick-up of any rental equipment.

Cancellation Policy :
50% Refund of Deposit if canceled at least 91 days in advance of the scheduled rental date. .
No Refund of Deposit or Rental Fee if canceled less than 90 days in advance of the scheduled rental date.
