Current Projects
For over 80 years, JLD has been investing in the DeKalb County community and its members. The organization’s positive impact can been seen throughout DeKalb County in the form of other not-for-profit organizations, such as the International Women’s House, Day League, and the Callanwolde Guilde, Inc., which were established or founded in part by JLD.
JLD’scurrent focus area isimproving nutrition and combating obesity in DeKalb through a diverse set of programs and partnerships, including Partners in Action for Healthy Living (PAHL), DeKalb County Schools Culinary Program, and Tea Cup Girls, Inc. and participating in the Association of Junior Leagues International’s project, Kids inthe Kitchen (KITK). KITK empowers youth tomake healthy lifestyle choicesbyproviding lessons and demonstrations related to the preparation of healthy food options and various forms of exercise.
