Planning: can prepare ahead Yield: 4 dozen
1 cup butter
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 teaspoons baking powder
2 cups all-purpose flour
Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time. Stir in vanilla. Sift together baking powder and flour; add flour to butter mixture, mixing to make soft dough. Roll dough and cut cookies, or drop by rounded teaspoons onto cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes.
